Emeritus Professor John Carter is regarded as one of Australia’s pre-eminent contracts lawyers. He is a consultant to the international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills and General Editor of the Contract and Commercial Law Review. John previously held a personal chair in Commercial Law at the University of Sydney. He has authored many leading works on contract law, including Carter on Contract and The Construction of Commercial Contracts. The current edition of Carter's Guide to Australian Contract Law (4th edition), Contract Law in Australia (8th edition), Carter's Breach of Contract (3rd edition) and subscriptions to the Contract and Commercial Law Review are available at JW Carter Publishing.
